The Kleins are back online!

We’re back. After a two-month hiatus of (28K) dial-up at Meg’s parents’ place in Nipomo while my broken leg healed, we’re happy to have DSL once again. So hopefully that will equate to more regular posts.

So, the big news is … After spending almost five years in San Diego, we’ve returned home to the Bay Area. We’re renting a house in San Mateo (about 20 minutes south of SF). We’re bathing in the luxury of having a second bath and a guest room-slash-office – so feel free to come visit us. We’re within walking distance to an “aquatic” park, the library and a community pool – Ella couldn’t be happier. Katy, on the other hand, is having a tougher time adjusting after the freedom of six acres in Nipomo.

In other good news, Jason started a new job today. And it’s only a 10 minute commute which means he’ll be able to come for lunch and get his Ella fix during the day. It’ll be a tough adjustment for all of us after having him home with us for the past eighteen or so months, but we’re happy to have the stability of a regular paycheck and paid health insurance.

On the broken leg front, I’m almost good as new. Most days I happily forget it was ever broken. But I’m occasionally reminded of it when I try to do any deep knee bends – such as trying to reach the bottom shelf of the fridge. But I suppose it’s just a matter of time and continuing my leg strengthening exercises at home.

In Ella news, she’s talking up a storm with sentences galore. Among her favorites are: “Katy, no barking!” and “Ella do it.” Our favorites are “Wuv you, mama.” And “Wuv you, dada.” She knows all her colors and shapes and loves to dress herself – in multiple dresses at a time.

That’s all the news for now. Good night and good luck.
