Latest Accomplishments

Climbing into her highchair – Ella has been able to climb into her stroller for a while now, but climbing into her highchair, and turning around is a new feat. One that makes us a tad nervous, since she’s performing this one without a net. And she hasn’t figured out how to get down …

Signing “I love you” – This has to be the cutest thing EVER. And she knows she’s being cute. Part of the way she signs it involves putting her head down and looking up at you coyly.

Climbing the ladder on her climbing structure – When Ella first got this toy for her first birthday, Jason put a ramp up to allow her to climb up on her own. She can now climb up the (two-rung) ladder.

Climbing into her car seat
– I’m sensing a pattern here. I have a feeling the Parent/Tot “gymnastics” class I signed us up for in Feb. will be a hit. Her friend Dorothy -- aka "DeeThee" – (pictured below) is taking it as well.

It’s a Zoo Out There

We spent Saturday at the zoo with both sets of grandparents. Surprisingly, I was the one to take the most photos.

Ella’s favorite part of the zoo was climbing on the rocks.

Her second favorite part was the petting zoo -- as seen here with the rare goatasaurus rex.

She’s been inside before, but as a pre-walker. It’s a different world when you can walk with the animals. She went from goat to goat, petting each and every one. She even got a chance to brush a goat or two.

After trekking all the way to Antartica to see the polar bears frolic in the water -- only to find two sleeping bears, we opted to take the skyfari shortcut back to the entrance. Ella did fine, despite her uncertainty captured in this photo.
