Huggin’ Cousins

We spent Thanksgiving weekend up in Auburn at my cousin Laura’s new home. It was a wonderful weekend – with two kids, two dogs, thirteen adults and no major incidents to report.

Ella’s second cousin Ryan loved giving her hugs…

And more hugs… Who could resist?

Auburn is a great little “mountain” town – we went for a pre-dinner hike ...

Then stuffed ourselves with turkey, all the fixin’s and five different pies.

Ella’s favorite was the sweet potatoes.

A trip to the local Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning before heading home.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

To celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary, Meg and I spent the weekend in Napa. As cute and wonderful as Ella is, it was nice to have a couple of days away. Special thanks to Grammy Peg for watching our little one while we were away.

Apparently, she didn’t seem to miss us much at all – which is bittersweet to hear. We love that she does so well when we’re away, but we wouldn’t mind to hear that she cried a couple of times because she missed us. I’m sure that day will come.

Here are some photos from our trip, plus one of Ella (I know she’s the main draw for most of the visitors to our site).

Here's us on the veranda at the Churchill House, an 1889 mansion in the heart of Napa.

...and inside by the stairway.

... and about to go on a bike tour of downtown.

Here's Megan at the Clos Pegase winery, which is famous for its modern art (and wine, I'm sure they'd add).

What you've all been waiting for, here's Ella with her new favorite pastime: STICKERS!!
