Happy One Month Birthday!

Dear Sarah,

Welcome to our family! We waited a long time for you. And we’re all so happy that you’re here -- especially your big sister. She loves to give you lots of kisses and help pick out your outfits (i.e. a striped onesie paired with striped pants). About a week after you were home, Ella asked Daddy, “Are we going to keep Baby Sarah?” He replied, “Do you think we should?” Luckily, she replied “Yes.” And so you can stay. ;)

You were born with the most amazing hair! It’s a bright copper color and stands straight up on top. So cute! Everyone comments on it. I have a feeling you're going to be fair-skinned like me. Sitting out in the sun will only make the freckles closer together. Trust me.

It’s been a whirlwind month, full of visits from grandparents and aunts and uncles, a kitty cat birthday party for big sister and lots of late nights. Adding another little person with big needs has been an adjustment for all of us. I’m still trying to figure you out. Let’s just say it’s been a bit of a challenge. But I know it won’t be our last. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
