Officially a Preschooler

Ella started preschool this past week. I had to capture her first day outfit. Our girl loves to layer! (But doesn't love to get her picture taken.)


As soon as she saw some other girls dressing up, Ella wanted to get into the action. We've shielded her from Disney Princesses for as long as we could ...


Her first day was my co-op day, where I work in the classroom. I was on "block room" detail. I was a little apprehensive how the 2nd day, a drop-off day, would go. When I told Ella in the morning that she was going to preschool, she asked if "Mama was going to stay or no?" When I said "no", I was going to come back after lunch, she cried a bit.

But when it came down to it, she did great! No tears, no protests! She basically ignored me when I said goodbye, busy doing art projects with squirt bottles full of paint. How could I compete?

So I went off on my merry way -- to the grocery store, the doctor's, and Starbucks to enjoy a decaf vanilla latte and read my book until pick-up time. I love preschool! And I guess Ella does too. Today (Saturday), when Jason asked what she wanted to do, she said "Go to preschool!"
